The Department of Transportation requires all commercial drivers of vehicles involved in Interstate commerce with a GVW over 10,000 pounds to obtain and maintain a valid Medical Examiners Certificate(medical card). The purpose of this examination is to determine if a driver is physically qualified to operate a commercial motor vehicle according to the requirements in 49 CFR 391.41-49.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was created to assure safe and healthful working conditions for the American worker. As part of their mission, OSHA mandates medical screening/surveillance for employees exposed to certain hazardous substances or conditions. At One Source we provide baseline, periodic, and exit screening/surveillance examinations when required by OSHA standards. These exams include but are not limited to those for asbestos, hexavalent chromium, lead, noise greater than 85 dB, bloodborne pathogens, respiratory protection and HAZWOPER.

A fitness-for-duty exam is typically performed on a current employee to determine whether or not that employee is physically or psychologically able to safely perform the essential functions of their job.
